Natsu project preview

Natsu Matsuri [summer festival] is a yearly event held in Singapore Japanese School.

It is normally held around August. Every year, locals and Japanese living here will attend this event. They will wear their yukatas and if you don’t have one, You can rent from the limited pieces of yukatas that they provide.

And if you are hungry, they have stalls selling Japanese food (eg: sushi, bento, curry rice). To keep people entertained, they also have mini games stalls set up for you. I’ve never been to a real natsu matsuri in Japan, but reading about it in comics, natsu matsuri in Singapore is more or less a small scale event compared to the big ones held in Japan.

Inspired by their kimono prints, I came up with this bag using japanese cloth that has a very festive feel to it. I try my best in creating something that is as close to a real human bag as possible.

Here’s some preview photos, click the pictures to view them big.
